Why isn't my Lovable website appearing on Google?

Last checked 31 Aug 2026

Short answer

Usually because the site is new and not yet crawled, it isn't published to a real domain, or it lacks basic metadata search engines need to index and rank it.

Check the basics first

Google can only show pages it has crawled and indexed. Before assuming something is broken:

  • Confirm the project is Published with a live custom domain, not just the *.lovable.app preview URL you're testing in.
  • Search site:yourdomain.com in Google. Nothing at all usually means it hasn't been crawled yet; something odd (wrong title, old content) means it's indexed but poorly optimised.
  • Check you haven't accidentally blocked crawling (see the noindex question in this batch).

New sites take time

A brand-new domain has no crawl history and no backlinks, so indexing can take days to weeks even when everything is technically correct. This is normal, not a Lovable-specific problem.

Give Google something to find

  • Ask Lovable to add unique page titles, meta descriptions and Open Graph tags for each page.
  • Ask Lovable to generate a sitemap.xml and robots.txt, then submit the sitemap in Google Search Console.
  • Add real, unique text content — a site that's mostly images or a single generic hero section gives Google little to index.

Add a sitemap.xml and robots.txt to this project, add unique title and meta description tags to every page, and confirm nothing is set to noindex.

Verify with Search Console

Add and verify your domain in Google Search Console, then use "Inspect URL" to check whether a page has been crawled and request indexing manually. This is the fastest way to get an initial page seen.

What usually goes wrong

  • Testing on the .lovable.app preview domain instead of the published custom domain.
  • No sitemap submitted, so Google discovers pages slowly by following links alone.
  • Content behind client-side rendering with no meaningful server-rendered text, which can delay indexing on very new domains.
  • Confusing "not ranking on page 1" with "not indexed" — check site: search before troubleshooting further.
