How long does Google take to index a Lovable website?
Last checked 31 Aug 2026
Short answer
There's no fixed timeline — often a few days to a few weeks for a new domain, faster if you submit a sitemap in Google Search Console and the site has clean metadata.
No guaranteed timeframe
Google doesn't publish an indexing SLA, and Lovable has no special fast-track into Google's index — your published app is crawled like any other website. Expect anywhere from a few days to several weeks for a brand-new domain to appear, depending on:
- Whether you've submitted a sitemap.
- Whether other sites already link to yours (backlinks help discovery).
- The domain's age and trust history if you're reusing an existing domain.
- How much unique, crawlable text content the site has.
Speed it up
- Publish to a real custom domain rather than staying on the preview subdomain.
- Ask Lovable to generate
sitemap.xmlandrobots.txt. - Verify the domain in Google Search Console and submit the sitemap there.
- Use Search Console's "Inspect URL" tool and click "Request indexing" for your key pages.
- Link to the new site from anywhere you already have an audience (social profiles, existing sites).
Generate a sitemap.xml listing all my published routes and a robots.txt that allows crawling, and add them to the project.
Checking progress
Search site:yourdomain.com in Google periodically, or watch the "Coverage" / "Pages" report in Search Console — it shows indexed vs excluded pages and the reasons for exclusions.
What usually goes wrong
- Expecting same-day indexing; it rarely happens for new domains.
- Never actually verifying the domain in Search Console, so there's no way to see what's happening.
- Blocking crawlers unintentionally with a
noindextag left over from testing, or arobots.txtdisallowing everything. - Publishing content-thin pages (placeholder text, lorem ipsum) that Google deprioritises even once crawled.
