Is Lovable good for SEO?

Short answer
Lovable apps can rank well — Lovable now runs an SEO/AI-search review and lets you set titles, descriptions, sitemaps and structured data — but you still have to do the SEO work; it isn't automatic just because the site is built with Lovable.
The honest answer
Lovable gives you the building blocks for solid SEO — editable meta tags, Open Graph data, a domain with proper SSL, and (per Lovable's own SEO/AEO tooling) a review feature that checks your app against SEO and AI-search best practices. It doesn't automatically make an app rank; ranking still depends on content quality, backlinks, page speed and correctly filled-in metadata, exactly as with any other stack.
Where Lovable helps
- Custom domain + HTTPS out of the box — a baseline Google expects.
- SEO and AI search review (in newer projects) — checks things like titles, descriptions and structured data, and can research keywords/competitors.
- Editable
<head>metadata — titles, descriptions, canonical tags, Open Graph, and JSON-LD schema can all be added by asking Lovable or editing code directly. - Google Search Console integration — connect it to verify your domain, submit sitemaps and monitor indexing straight from chat.
Where you still have to do the work
- Content: unique, useful copy per page. No tool writes this for you convincingly.
- Site structure: clear headings, internal links, one clear topic per page.
- Sitemap and robots.txt: not generated for you by default on a plain SPA — you (or Lovable, when asked) need to add these, see does Lovable automatically create a sitemap.
- Rendering considerations: a client-rendered single-page app can be harder for some crawlers than a server-rendered page; newer Lovable projects built on TanStack Start with server functions render more content server-side, which helps.
- Backlinks and authority: entirely outside the tool, same as any platform.
What usually goes wrong
People assume "AI built it, so it must be optimised" and skip the basics — no meta description, no alt text, no sitemap submitted to Google. None of that happens automatically; ask for each piece explicitly.
Getting started

- AnswerHow do I stop a Lovable page being indexed?Ask Lovable to add a noindex meta tag to that specific page, and optionally disallow it in robots.txt — don't block the whole domain by mistake.
