Cookie Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how LovableStudent ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of Lovable Student at lovablestudent.com (the "Site"), uses cookies and similar technologies, the legal basis on which we do so, and how you control them. It forms part of, and should be read with, our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. It is provided in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and — for visitors in the United Kingdom and European Union — the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive as implemented in your country, together with the UK/EU GDPR.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. We also use localStorage, which stores a small value on your device between visits and is functionally equivalent for the purposes of this Policy. References to "cookies" in this Policy include cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage and comparable browser storage.
2. Consent and legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis that they are essential to provide the service you have requested; no consent is required for them and they cannot be switched off through the Site. All non-essential cookies — currently analytics only — are placed only after you give informed, opt-in consent through our cookie banner. Until you consent, Google Consent Mode v2 is initialised with analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization set to "denied", and no non-essential cookie is written. Consent is not a condition of access: refusing leaves the Site fully usable. You may withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, using the control in clause 5.
3. Cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary
ls_consent_v1(localStorage, set by us, persists until cleared) — records your cookie choice so the banner is not shown again and your preference is honoured on later visits.- Administrative session storage (set by us, session or short-lived) — keeps an editor signed in to the administrative area. Set only for authorised editors.
- Voting integrity value (set by us, short-lived) — a coarse, non-identifying signal used only to prevent the same browser voting repeatedly on a content request.
3.2 Analytics — optional, consent required
_gaand_ga_<container>(set by Google Analytics 4 via gtag.js, typically up to 24 months) — distinguish visitors and sessions so we can measure how many people read each guide, which pages fail, and which answers are most useful.
Analytics is configured for measurement only. We do not enable Google Signals-based advertising features, remarketing audiences or cross-device advertising personalisation from this Site.
3.3 Advertising and cross-site tracking
None. We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, social tracking pixels, data brokers or cross-site advertising profiles on the Site, and we do not sell any information collected through cookies.
4. Third-party recipients and overseas transfer
Where you have consented to analytics, the resulting information is processed by Google LLC and its affiliates on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union, under Google's own terms and privacy policy. Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which necessarily receives your IP address in order to return the font file. Where third-party content is embedded in a page, that provider may set its own cookies subject to its own policy. Overseas transfers are subject to the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing your choice
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you consent to analytics cookies. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the control below, which clears your stored preference and re-presents the banner:
You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or use your browser's private-browsing mode. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of the Site function, and deleting cookies will clear your stored consent preference, so the banner will appear again. Instructions are published by each browser vendor for Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox.
6. Retention
Each cookie is retained for the period stated in clause 3, or until you delete it. Consent records are retained for as long as the preference remains stored in your browser. Analytics data is retained by Google in accordance with the retention period configured for our property and thereafter deleted or aggregated.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy where our use of cookies or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page and identified by the "Last updated" date above. Where a change introduces a new non-essential cookie, we will seek fresh consent before it is set.
8. Contact
Questions about this Policy, or requests relating to information collected through cookies, may be sent to info@lovablestudent.com. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or your local EU supervisory authority.
