How do I submit my Lovable sitemap to Google?
Last checked 31 Aug 2026
Short answer
Verify your domain in Google Search Console (directly from Lovable's integration or manually), then submit your sitemap.xml URL under the Sitemaps section so Google knows to crawl it.
Prerequisites
Before submitting a sitemap, you need:
- A published site on a verified domain.
- A working
sitemap.xmlreachable athttps://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml— see how do I create a sitemap.xml. - Your domain verified in Google Search Console — see how do I connect Google Search Console.
Submitting via Lovable's integration
If you've connected Lovable's Google Search Console integration, ask directly in chat:
Submit my sitemap.xml to Google Search Console.
Lovable can handle the submission through the connected account without you needing to leave the chat interface.
Submitting manually
- Go to search.google.com/search-console and select your verified property.
- Open Sitemaps in the left-hand menu.
- Enter the path
sitemap.xml(relative to your verified property) and click Submit. - Google queues it for processing — this isn't instant; status typically appears within a day or so.
Checking it worked
Return to the Sitemaps section later to see the "Success" status and how many URLs were discovered versus indexed. A submitted sitemap with zero indexed pages after a couple of weeks usually means a content or crawlability problem, not a submission problem — check the Pages report for specific errors.
What usually goes wrong
- Submitting a sitemap URL that 404s because the file wasn't actually published, or was blocked by robots.txt.
- Submitting before the domain is verified — Search Console will reject it.
- Expecting immediate indexing — Google crawls on its own schedule; submission speeds discovery, it doesn't guarantee immediate or full indexing.
