Why are verification emails not arriving?
Last checked 31 Aug 2026
Short answer
Usually the email lands in spam, the sending rate limit on Lovable Cloud's default mailer has been hit, or you haven't connected a proper email provider yet.
Common causes
Lovable Cloud's built-in auth sends verification and password-reset emails through a default mail sender that is meant for testing, not production volume. It has strict rate limits and no reputation, so mail providers frequently mark it as spam or block it outright.
- Recipient's spam/junk folder — check there first.
- Rate limiting: too many sign-ups in a short window on the default sender.
- Typos in the email field, or a test address that doesn't actually receive mail.
- Auth settings misconfigured (e.g. email confirmation required but sender not set up correctly).
How to fix it properly
- For anything beyond testing, connect a real transactional email provider such as Resend and ask Lovable to send auth emails through it.
- Ask Lovable: "Connect Resend for authentication emails and use a verified sending domain."
- Verify your sending domain's DNS records (SPF/DKIM) with the provider — unverified domains get filtered hard.
- Turn off "confirm email" during development if you're just testing flows, then re-enable it before launch.
Connect Resend as the email provider for signup verification and password reset emails, using my verified domain.
What usually goes wrong
- Relying on the default sender for a live app — it isn't designed for production traffic.
- Forgetting to add the DKIM/SPF DNS records the email provider gives you, so mail from your domain still looks unverified.
- Users typing a work email with aggressive spam filtering; ask them to check quarantine, not just spam.
If you're not confident configuring DNS and email providers yourself, PromptSites.com can set up production-ready auth email for you.
