Where do Lovable form submissions go?
Last checked 31 Aug 2026
Short answer
Nowhere, by default — a form only exists on the front end until you connect a destination: a database table (Lovable Cloud/Supabase) and/or an outgoing email via an integration like Resend.
There's no default destination
A form Lovable generates is just React state and a submit handler. Unless you specify what happens on submit, nothing is stored anywhere — the data lives only in the browser and disappears on refresh. This surprises a lot of people who assume "adding a form" implies "receiving the data".
The two real options
| Destination | Good for | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Database table | Reviewing enquiries later, building an admin dashboard, exporting data | Lovable Cloud or a connected Supabase project |
| Outgoing email | Getting notified immediately, no dashboard needed | An email integration such as Resend, called from a server function |
Most production forms do both: save to a table for record-keeping, and send an email for immediate notice. See how do I save form submissions to a database and how do I email form submissions to myself.
How to set it up
When someone submits the contact form, save it to an
enquiriestable and email me at [email protected] with the details.
Lovable will create the table with row-level security restricting reads to you, and add a server-side function that sends the email — API keys for the email provider stay server-side, never in the browser.
What usually goes wrong
- Assuming email "just works": sending email requires an integration (Resend is the common one) and a verified sending domain for anything beyond test addresses.
- Storing sensitive data without RLS: if you add a database table, make sure Lovable applies row-level security so submissions aren't publicly readable.
- No confirmation to the submitter: consider also emailing the person who submitted the form a short acknowledgement, separate from your internal notification.
If you're not sure which route fits your project, ask Lovable to explain the trade-off for your specific use case, or bring in PromptSites.com to set up the whole pipeline properly the first time.
