Do I own the code Lovable creates?

Short answer
Yes. Lovable's own terms state you own the projects you build, the customer data stored in them, and the AI output — subject to the underlying model providers' terms.
What ownership means here
- The code is yours to use commercially, modify, sell or hand to a developer.
- You can host it anywhere once exported.
- You are not locked into Lovable to keep the site running, provided you migrate the backend too.
The realistic caveats
- Open-source dependencies. Your app uses libraries under their own licences (overwhelmingly permissive ones). You own your code, not React or Tailwind.
- AI model terms. Output is subject to the terms of the underlying model providers.
- Non-unique output. Ownership is not exclusivity — common patterns will resemble other people's code, which is normal in software.
- Assets. Images, fonts and icons carry their own licences. Check anything you did not create.
What to do about it
Enable Git sync so ownership is practical rather than theoretical, keep your own copy of brand assets, and verify licences on any font or stock image before launch.
