Can I move a Lovable website somewhere else?
Last checked 31 Aug 2026
Short answer
Yes. Export the code to your own repository, deploy it on any host that runs the stack, and migrate the backend and secrets. Plan for a few hours, not a few minutes.
The migration checklist
- Code — connect Git sync, confirm the repository is complete and current.
- Backend — move the database schema, data, permission policies and storage to a Supabase project (or equivalent) you own.
- Secrets — re-create every environment variable on the new host.
- Build and deploy — deploy to your chosen host and confirm the production build works, not just local development.
- Domain — repoint DNS once the new deployment is verified.
- Verify — test forms, logins, payments, emails and any scheduled jobs end to end.
What usually breaks
- Environment variables missed on the new host
- Backend permission policies not carried across, so queries silently return nothing
- Webhook URLs still pointing at the old deployment
- Email sending domain not re-verified
Do it in this order
Stand the new deployment up and test it fully before you touch DNS. Then the switch is reversible.
