How do I publish a Lovable website?
Last checked 31 Aug 2026
Short answer
Click Publish in the top-right of the Lovable editor; it deploys your current version to a live `*.lovable.app` URL (or your connected custom domain) in under a minute.
Steps to publish
- Open your project in the Lovable editor.
- Click Publish in the top-right corner.
- Lovable builds and deploys the current version — this usually takes well under a minute.
- Your app is live at a
yourproject.lovable.appURL, or your custom domain if you've connected one.
You can republish any time you make changes; publishing doesn't happen automatically on every edit, so remember to click it again after further changes.

You can also ask Lovable to publish for you directly in chat.
Controlling access
In Project settings you can control who can view the published app (e.g. password-protect it, or keep it private while building) and configure site metadata like the page title and social preview image.
What usually goes wrong
- Forgetting to republish after changes, so testers see an old version.
- Confusing "Preview" (what you see while editing) with "Publish" (the live deployed version) — they're not automatically the same until you publish.
- Custom domain not connected yet, so the published app is only reachable at the
.lovable.appURL — see how-do-i-connect-my-own-domain-to-lovable.
After publishing
Once live, set up version history bookmarks before major changes so you can revert quickly if something breaks post-publish.

- AnswerWhy aren't my latest changes appearing live? Most likely you haven't clicked Publish since the last edit, or you (or a viewer's browser/CDN) are looking at a cached copy of the old page.
- AnswerWhy does my published site look different from preview?Usually it's a stale cache — your browser or a CDN is showing an older published version. Hard-refresh, check you actually clicked Publish, and confirm you're viewing the live URL, not a cached preview link.
