Cloud workspace + agent · checked 1 Sept 2026
Lovable vs Replit
Replit is the closest thing to Lovable on this list: both are all-in-one, both build and host the app, and both include a database and a login system. The real split is audience. Replit is a full cloud IDE with an agent bolted into it, so you are never far from a terminal. Lovable keeps the chat in front and the code behind a tab. Both were re-checked on 1 September 2026 against each vendor's own docs and pricing pages.
Scorecard
Lovable takes 5 of 13 rows, 1 goes the other way, and 7 rows are a genuine tie.
Pricing and features change often — verify anything critical against each vendor's own page before you commit.

Pick Lovable when
You want to stay in a chat-and-preview loop, and you would rather never see a terminal or manage a workspace.
Pick Replit when
You want a real cloud development environment as well as an agent — a terminal, any language, and packages you install yourself.
Lovable vs Replit, dimension by dimension
Each row was checked in both tools. The badge says which one we'd pick for that row on its own — ignore the rows that don't matter to your project.
Best for
TieLovable
Non-developers and product people shipping a web app, staying in chat and preview from start to launch.
Replit
Building and shipping in a full cloud workspace, including by non-coders, with the agent as one tool among many.
Learning curve
Lovable winsLovable
Very low. Chat drives everything; the code tab is optional.
Replit
Very low to start — the docs say no coding required — but the credit and effort model takes learning.
Website building
TieLovable
Prompt to a responsive React, Vite and Tailwind front end, with live preview and visual editing.
Replit
The agent builds sites and apps from prompts, and other formats such as slide decks too.
App building
TieLovable
Full-stack in one loop: the front end, tables, policies and server functions are built together.
Replit
Full apps with plan mode, checkpoints and, on the Core plan, parallel agents for bigger builds.
Backend
TieLovable
Lovable Cloud is built in: database, auth, storage, realtime and server functions.
Replit
A full backend workspace inside the cloud IDE, with integrations activated based on your prompt.
Database
Lovable winsLovable
Managed Postgres per project. Tables come from the conversation, and you can still edit SQL directly.
Replit
A built-in database, included even on the free Starter plan.
Both include a database. Lovable is specifically Postgres with visible policies, which matters if you care about row-level security.
Authentication
Lovable winsLovable
Email, phone, Google, Apple, Microsoft and SAML SSO, with the login pages generated for you.
Replit
Replit Auth lets people sign in with their Replit account with zero setup. Other providers are your own code.
Code access
Lovable winsLovable
Standard code you can browse, search, edit and download from the code tab.
Replit
Full code editable in the workspace; export is the normal Replit route rather than a one-click download.
GitHub
Lovable winsLovable
Two-way sync with GitHub, GitHub Enterprise or GitLab. Every change commits in real time.
Replit
Git and GitHub work in the workspace, and integrations connect based on your prompt.
Deployment and domains
TieLovable
One-click publish, then buy, connect and verify a custom domain in-app.
Replit
A publishing tool handles domain, access, database and monitoring; custom domains sit on top of a free replit.app subdomain.
Pricing
Replit winsLovable
Free tier, Pro at $25/month (100 monthly credits plus 5 daily, up to 150/month), Business from $50/month.
Replit
Free Starter with daily agent credits, Core at $20/month ($17 billed annually) including $20 of model credit and two parallel agents. Usage is effort-based, with credit packs available.
Replit's entry paid tier is cheaper and includes model credit; effort-based billing means a large task costs more than a small one.
Strengths
TieLovable
One chat for the whole stack, auth and Postgres with visible security rules, real exportable code, two-way GitHub sync.
Replit
Build, host, database and auth in one workspace, a real terminal and language freedom, publishing with custom domains built in.
Limitations
TieLovable
Credits pay for both building and running the app, so cost is hard to forecast. Web apps are the sweet spot.
Replit
Effort-based credits make big tasks unpredictable, and removing the Made with Replit badge needs a paid plan.
Our take
These two overlap more than any other pair here, and for a straightforward web app either will get you live. Pick Lovable if the chat-first loop matches how you want to work and your app is a web app. The database, auth and publish flow are designed to be invisible, and that is the point. Pick Replit if you want the workspace as well as the agent — if you expect to run scripts, use a language other than JavaScript, or poke at things directly. Replit is a development environment first, and that breadth is real. On cost, Replit moved to effort-based pricing, so a big task costs more than a small one. Lovable meters credits. Both mean a heavy week costs more than a light one; neither is a flat fee once you are building seriously.
